Nothing keeps you in the muck of the mundane than the rut of routine. Change brings a lot of things with it…uncertainty, fear, loss of comfort. But why do we always look at the negative side of change? Change also brings new perspectives. The minute you change something, no matter what it is, you instantly get a fresh perspective. And often times, a fresh perspective is what we really need to refocus and refresh. A new venue brings a new view.
Recently I started journaling. I found that this new way of capturing thoughts and ideas gave me fresh and new perspectives that I’m convinced I would have otherwise missed.
What do you need to change in order to bring a new perspective? Maybe you need to find a new place to be alone with God. Maybe you need to start a new hobby that will awaken creativity in you that you didn’t know you had. Maybe you need to take a walk in a new direction tonight. Maybe you need to plan a new activity with your family.
A new venue brings a new view. Thank God for the gift of newness. It truly is a gift.
